Convincing the wife for intercourse is independent from psychology. After marriage, this is religiously mandatory on wife to have intercourse with husband and vice versa.
According to a Hadith, Holy Prophet PBUH has said, " If a Husband would call his wife on his bed and she refuses, then the angels curse upon her whole night".

This is not possible that a wife would not be convinced. Some difficulty could happen at wedding night or there after, but that would be temporary, and could be handled with patience and politeness.
