High Blood Pressure is a Silent Killer!

High blood pressure is one of the common illnesses through out the world and it is more prevalent in old age people. High blood pressure or Hypertension is regarded as "Silent Killer", since it does not produce any obvious signs and symptoms and it appear when it has produced harmful effects on different organs of the body. 

High Blood Pressure – Essential Hypertension: 

The most important organs that are affected with hypertension are kidneys, blood vessels and heart. There are many causes of high blood pressure, but in most of the cases it is called as essential hypertension. It means that the cause of high blood pressure is not known. More than 80% people develop essential hypertension and the people have to take medications for treating the high blood pressure for long time. 

Causes of High Blood Pressure: 

 There are many people who can develop high blood pressure at younger age as well. Obesity, cigarette smoking, anxiety and mental tension are the major reasons of high blood pressure. 

High Blood Pressure Damages Important Organs of the Body! 

A major bad impact that could happen by high blood pressure is its impact on the brain. Many of the stroke patients admitted in the hospital are due to the complication of high blood pressure. This problem generates impacts on the kidneys as well and in the long run if the blood pressure remains uncontrolled then the kidney damage could develop. Hence a patient due to hypertension can develop chronic renal failure or kidney failure. The high blood pressure also produces heart problems like irregular heart rhythm, heart attach, angina, etc. It is required therefore; the patients should get regular screening of their blood pressure so that this killer could be caught at the beginning and then appropriate measures could be taken for its solution. 

High Blood Pressure – Investigation and Diagnosis: 

There are different tests and investigations that should be done in case if a person is diagnosed to have high blood pressure. It should be sorted out that what is the culprit that causes the high blood pressure. The status of the kidney and heart should be evaluated via different investigations and then a person should take medications according to the advice of the doctor. 

High Blood Pressure – How to Treat? 

There are various modes of treatment for high blood pressure, both natural and chemical, however; it is better to consult the doctor or cardiologist before taking any treatment. There are many natural ways in order to tackle the high blood pressure like dietary modification, taking less salt and sugar, spending relaxed life and changing the life style. There are many things that we take in the diet and we don't know that these things would be harmful for the body. 

High Blood Pressure – Modify your Diet: 

Oily and heavy meals possess too much cholesterol and triglycerides that would generate a lot of problems in future. This cholesterol deposits in the blood vessels and make them narrow and as the result of that a person develops high blood pressure and other heart problems like heart attack, angina and arrhythmias. If the large blood vessels of the brain are affected, then a person may develop stroke as well. 

Exercise is Essential to Prevent High Blood Pressure: 

A person should do regular walking or exercise in order to make the heart and blood vessels stronger. It has been found that those people who use to perform regular exercise would have fewer incidences of heart problems and high blood pressure. 

High Blood Pressure - Salt in the Diet and Psychological Problems: 

It is also a good idea to take less salt in the diet since the high salt content increases the blood pressure. It is also necessary that a person should spend tension free life and should avoid anxiety and depression. The mental and psychological problems may produce problem of high blood pressure if they are not treated well. A person should not take any thing hard on his mind since many unfortunate events happen in the life and a person should face them courageously. If any thing goes wrong in the life that makes an individual grieved and depressed, then it is better to see a psychologist or psychiatrist who would provide good advices and the things would improve with in less time period. Taking full sleep, balanced diet and exercises are the best ways in order to tackle the problems of high blood pressure and to avoid the heart problems in the long run.

High blood pressure should not be considered a small disease and in actual it is the root cause of many diseases. Prompt action should be taken in case it is found that an individual is suffering from high blood pressure so that the future complications could be minimized.
