Hepatitis B Screening vs PCR

If you got HbsAg positive(reactive) on a simple blood test then its a screening test so the first step is to make sure the report was correct or from an authetic lab, if its so then get ELISA done(for confirmaition of hepatitis B) .
You can repeat your PCR yearly.

Re: Hepatitis B - Status Of Surface Antigen and PCR

There are two possibilities;

1. Either you don't have Hepatitis B
2. You have got Hepatitis B but now the virus is in inactive form.

In both of the above cases, you are safe.

However; be attentive in case of 2. you need thorough checkup however. If Hep B virus is in active form, then it could be re-activated. Consult any HEPATOLOGIST. for proper prevention.
