No Life Pregnancy: What Does This Mean?

Previously my wife had a missed period and then she got pregnant uptill the next period, atleast the test came positive. When we counsalted with the doctor she told us the there is very slow progress and to have a re check after 2 weeks.

Now we are told that its a no life pregnancy. Can you explain that what does this means and what are the causes of it and how to overcome this issue.
