Rubella IgG Positive, Is it Dangerous?

My Wife is in the 3rd Months(9th Week) of the pregnancy, Doctor Advised us to perform a number of tests and one test Rubella IgG(Antibody) Came to be Positive, What is this and is it harm full for the Mom or baby.

It means ur wife has immunity against rubella virus n its protectv for the fetus.ur wife must av been vaccinated against MMR (mumps,measles n rubella) bt the level of IgG r also impt as v.high levels refer to recent infectn then IgM level r also dne.

the exact level is 101 iu/ml

and my wife have never been vacinated(as long as she can remember)

IgG Rubella

IgG rubella is done in pregnant females or reproductv age grp to knw if they av protectn against it or nt as rubella infctn in preg lead to ear,eyes n heart defct of fetus.if IgG status less than 15iu/ml its means no protctn n female may get infctn or may not. UR wife 101iu/ml level falls in protectv range n its gud she may hav got protctn frm 2 sources tht cn be 1)vaccinatn-tht she mght nt knw as prevously MMRvaccinatn ws dne bfr 10yr age n hr parents dd tht she dnt rembr 2)subclinical infctn tht is she had exposure to rubella in early lyf bt tht dd nt show symptms bt gav her antibodies. Lastly in pregnant females if fever n rash appears then IgM For rubella is dne n if its elevatd IgG is repeatd n compard wth ths earlier baseline IgG to knw if it is still increasng shws infctn. So basicaly ur wife tst ws dne to c her imunity n tht is present.hope u hav nw understood in a betr way
