Pregnancy And Cesarean Section: How Much Time Should Be Apart?

Dear Dr Rizwan, my question is that my baby girl is one and a half years old or more than that. She was born via cesarean section. May we go for another baby now? My age is 33 and I am afraid whether there not be any problem in pregnancy due to increasing age if we do further delay. My husband is suffering from Thalessemia minor and I am normal. Will our babies be minor as well. Please give answer in detail.

Yes You may proceed for another pregnancy now. Increasing age might give rise to certain problems during pregnancy but if you have been consulted via good gynecologist then you will be prevented for any type of complication. Thalessemia minor is transmitted from the parents to the children. Now the rule is that, if husband is having thalessimia minor and wife is normal then:

1. All the daughters will have  thalessimia minor

2. All the sons will be perfectly normal

Make sure that if you would have daughters than avoid their marriage with their cousins. Thalessimia minor does not present it self untill it will become Thalessmia major. Therefore chances of Thalessimia major would be increased if they will be married with those boys who are either Thalessimia Minor or Major.
