re: ACCA

first of all i would like to say that once we started this efforts, definitely people will discuss their careers issues on this forum:

ACCA: its completion time is 3 years and an average student can complete it in three years, if he has already commerce background. i also used to teach even when i was at job. two of my students who did B.com completed ACCA in 3 years, one of them now working in UAE.

How much effort: if the student already has commerce background, it will be easy for him to jump to the advance courses of Level-II and III because he already has basic knowledge of accounting & finance.

Career through ACCA: in the previous past, to get UK visa was the only charm for students of ACCA. as far as Pakistani market is concerned, market for ACCA is not as established as is for CA, ACMA, MBA (IBA & LUMS). as we should analyse the prospective candidate for job who will be competing the ACCA, in Pakistani context, CA, MBA finance (IBA & LUMS) have competitive edge.

re: ACCA (continued)

one more thing, some students in Pakistan who have ultimate goal of CA preferred to get into CA through ACCA rather than directly starting CA. they took this way because after compeletion of ACCA, there are exemption of few papers for CA.

Trade course

i am unable to understand by the term "Trade Course" in the sense that you are talking about short course or subject course in a degree programme.

however, if you want to do short course, almost all public sector universities offer 3 months Diploma in International Trade & WTO laws in the University Law Department.

if you want take a trade course in a degree programme, then you have to be specific which degree you are comleting and what is your career background.

To: Cheeku (Exemptions in ACCA Papers on the Basis of CA Papers)

As'salam - O - Aluiykum,

Dear Brother, glad to see your Quasi-Services @ free of cost, it's really appreciable...!

I want to ask that if some one have Qualified CA - Inter (ICAP) and B.Com (UoK), then what exemptions, if any, will he get from  ACCA (UK) ?
and Secondly, can that person also do private BBA or MBA from IBA (UoK) ?

Details about CA - Inter Papers :
  1. Functional or Business English
  2. Quantitive Techniques (Business Maths + Business Stats)
  3. Economics (Miro + Macro + Finance)
  4. Mercantile Law (Contract Acts + Special Contracts Acts + Sales Acts + Insurance + Negotiable Intruments)
  5. Financial Accounting I & II (Basic + Advance)
  6. Taxation (Income Tax + Sales Tax)
  7. OBBC (Organisational Behaviour & Business Communication)
  8. Cost Accounting (excluding Advance)
  9. Company Law (Basic, i.e. approx 252 Sections)
  10. Auditing (excluding Advance)
  11. IT (I & II)
If your asnwer is "Yes" then please recommend me that basic procedures.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards.

Corporate Sectors

It would be also highly appreciable, if you recommend some Fields, where some one can earn 100% Halal.

re: Exemption in ACCA: Corporate Sector

On the basis of CA inter, there are four papers exempt for ACCA. they are:

F1: Accountant in Business

F2: Management Accounting

F3.Financial Accounting

F4.Corporate & Business Law.

Procedure: you are required to visit ACCA office in any city, you have to fill the registration form. on page 3 & page 4 of registration form, you have to claim exemption for these four papers & deposit the fee in the respective bank. after one month you will receive letter of registration and exemption and then you will be required to deposit exemption fee.

Corporate Sector:

As you said 100% Halal, in my opinion, there is no way to earn 100% halal. one of my respected teacher is doing research on Islamic Banking and he is on panel of one of the Islamic Banks in Pakistan. He often says that it is an Islamic way of Halal. Positive thing is that we have taken initiative in that direction.

you will argue that why not 100% Halal. reason is that in this global world, one cant do business by isolating himself through the rest of the world. as the Financial sector in the world is controlled by Jews and each and every economy is linked with international finance and international community, so directly or indirectly one has to face the consequences. As our whole economy is interest based, even if we convert our local loans on free of interest, but foreign debt has to be interest based. so each & every rupee in the economy is linked with interest. even if you are on marketing side, you have to deal and make decision which will lead to not 100% Halal.

this is my opinion. Others may differ.

Thanks Cheeku Brother

I wanted to ask that how many papers do someone need to give in order to get ACCA (UK) degree after qualifiying CA-Inter. If some get 4 Papers Exemtion tyhen how many left...? I think ACCA is package of 21 Papers so I think someone have to give 17 papers or lessser than that...?

and you didn't resond to my 2 Question about BBA or MBA from IBA.

Thanks for your detailed reply.

Options Module

  • P4 - Adv Financial Management
  • P5 - Adv Performance Management
  • P6 - Adv Taxation
  • P7 - Adv Audit and Assurance

for full ACCA, you have to qualify 14 papers, after exemption of 4 papers, you need to pass 10 papers.

On the basis of CA inter, you will not be eligilbe for BBA or MBA. However, on the basis of B.Com, you are eligible. but point to note here is that as per HEC ruling, most of the top business school in Pakistan have shifted to 16 years for MBA admission. however, you can apply and may be admitted because there are less numbers of applicants who will be holding 16 years education. or you may get into private university, most of the private universities are still working on 14 years education.
